All Rook users consent to a background check when signing up, and also consent to a summary of the results being shown on their profile.
Each Rook user's profile will show a summary of their background check results with personal identifiable information removed.
Background checks are performed by a third-party company.
You can start using Rook while your check is in progress, but some features may only be available after your background check finishes.
Full sign-up process and what happens after
Age shown in each Rook profile is determined directly from the date of birth provided during background check.
Profiles of people who do not complete background checks may be hidden.
While check is in progress, profile will say "Background Check Pending" and give an estimated date when check will be complete.
After check is complete, profile will show a summary of results.
It costs $10 to sign up and use Rook for one month. This includes the fee charged by the third-party background check processor, to perform the check.
The background check process requires you to provide information/documents. If you do not provide these in a timely manner, the check may be put on hold, or even terminated. In that case, you may not receive a refund (*).
After the check finishes, you can request a copy of your own background check report to be emailed to you.
